Basic Vocabulary

This page provides some simple vocabulary words for the new student. El Treisour contains all common Talossan words (except proper nouns and adjectives, like personal names and placenames) and L’Översteir can be used to look up other English words.

  • qator = four (the q is pronounced as a k, and the first syllable is stressed)

As exemplified by the final three verbs in the list above, Talossan has a great many verbs that express concepts that would take more than a single word to express in English. Some of the many other verbs like this are c’hreovarh (= to cause sorrow), perstreptarh (= to want to speak), ramaßarh (= to fend for one’s self), and iridarh (= to wash down food with drink).
